Ecuador Service Trip

Ecuador: During this service trip I was able to interact with the local citizens and learn about the culture. It was incredible to see things from their perspective and learn how they live their lives, what they think about their situation, their country, the United States, and other things.

On several occasions, I visited local special-need schools and local daycares. When I wasn't translating and assisting the medical team I was busy playing with the kids and helping them to learn English and teach basic computing skills.

Volunteer Work

UPDATES COMING SOON !

As an undergraduate at DePauw University, I was heavily involved with educational programs, part-time jobs, and other activities. However, I felt it was most important to dedicate time as a volunteer. I was able to volunteer countless hours in the following areas:

  • Ecuador service trip
  • Website development and creation for Exploring - Learning for Life career education program
  • Computer Lab Maintenance Supervisor
  • Boys and Girls club of Decatur and Indianapolis
  • Assisting in sports night, relay for life, and other activities
  • Teaching Spanish at a local elementary school

By volunteering for these organizations and tasks, I help numerous individuals who might not have been helped otherwise. Not only am I helping those affected by my work, I am also helping myself. Doing good works for others helps me to feel inspired and wanting to do more for those less fortunate than myself.
